AWS Elemental has announced four new live video features ahead of the IBC2026 exhibition. The company showcased these latest advancements at Booth 5.C90 in Hall 5 through September 14. These new features are designed to directly target three major broadcaster pain points: giving viewers personalized multi-camera views, understanding what is happening on screen in real time, and filling ad space that would otherwise go unsold.

Reducing Encoding Costs for Multi-Camera Experiences

Among the key announcements is a new multiview tool. AWS states that this tool can reduce encoding costs by up to 97 percent. To explain the functionality of this live-streaming feature, AWS Elemental referenced a familiar example: NFL RedZone. Through this technology, viewers who want a multi-game or multi-angle experience can now access it for any sporting event. Broadcasters are no longer required to pay to encode the video feed multiple times over, significantly lowering the financial barrier to delivering complex multi-camera streams.

What This Means for AV Integrators

For AV integrators working in broadcast and live-sports environments, this development suggests a more cost-effective pathway to implementing highly customized multi-angle viewing experiences. By drastically reducing encoding overhead, integrators may find it easier to propose and deploy sophisticated live-streaming architectures to clients who previously faced prohibitive production costs.
