DATALAND Opens as the World’s First Museum of AI Arts, Featuring Immersive Audio by L-Acoustics L-ISA and Ambiance Technologies
DATALAND, the world’s first Museum of AI Arts, officially opened to the public on June 20, 2026, at The Grand LA in downtown Los Angeles. The museum, developed by artist and visionary Refik Anadol, is designed to activate all five human senses through an omni-sensory experience. Central to this immersive environment is the integration of L-Acoustics’ advanced audio technologies, including the L-ISA Hyperreal Immersive spatial system and the groundbreaking L-Acoustics Ambiance™ hybrid active acoustic enhancement solution.
L-Acoustics powers DATALAND with immersive L-ISA and Ambiance audio, creating the world's first AI arts museum experience. “Sound is not merely an accompaniment to my visual installations; it is an intrinsic element, co-constituting the overall sensory experience,” says Refik Anadol. The museum’s inaugural exhibition, Machine Dreams: Rainforest, developed by Refik Anadol Studio’s collective of artists, scientists, architects, and engineers, runs through January 31, 2027. Spread across five galleries, this exhibition redefines art for the age of machine intelligence.
The L-ISA system, known for its ability to create a three-dimensional sound field, enhances the visitor experience by enveloping them in a dynamic audio environment. The L-Acoustics Ambiance™ solution, installed for the first time in the Americas by Certified Partner Solotech, further refines the acoustics of the space, ensuring that sound is precisely controlled and optimized for the immersive experience. This combination of technologies allows for a seamless integration of audio with visual and other sensory elements, creating a truly holistic artistic experience.
