The 2026 NAB Show Product of the Year Awards, announced on April 22 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, sent a clear signal: artificial intelligence is no longer a feature checklist item in broadcast and AV technology. It is the product.

Blackmagic Design's DaVinci Resolve 21 claimed the coveted Best Overall award, beating out 16 category winners from more than a thousand exhibitors. The latest version of the industry-standard post-production platform introduces AI capabilities including IntelliSearch for fast content searching, CineFocus for AI-driven focal point adjustment, facial refinement tools, and over 100 new motion graphic effects. It is, in essence, a complete AI-augmented post-production pipeline in a single application.

In the Intelligent Technology category — the most hotly contested segment at this year's show — standouts included Vizrt's AI Keyer, which uses neural-network processing to extract subjects from live video feeds without chroma screens or manual rotoscoping; VAST Data's AI Operating System, a full-stack AI infrastructure platform that manages data pipelines for media workflows; and Lingopal.ai's Real-Time Live Translation, which delivers simultaneous multilingual audio translation at broadcast quality with sub-200ms latency.

The IT Networking and Infrastructure category saw AIMS IPMX recognized — reinforcing that standards-based AV-over-IP is now table stakes for broadcast and enterprise AV alike.

In the Audio Production category, winners included Riedel's Commentary Control App and Wheatstone's VMX Virtual Mixing Platform — both pushing the boundaries of software-defined audio.

What This Means for AV Integrators

The NAB 2026 product awards are a leading indicator for what enterprise AV clients will be asking for within 12–24 months. Integrators who understand AI Keying, real-time translation infrastructure, and AI-powered post workflows — not just for broadcast clients but for corporate media teams — will be positioned to win higher-value projects. Lingopal.ai's translation win in particular is worth watching: multilingual meeting rooms and event productions are becoming a compliance and engagement requirement, not a luxury upsell.
