Wireworx Deploys AVoIP on Converged Network for AI Research Centre
Wireworx, a consultancy firm, has implemented an audiovisual over IP (AVoIP) solution on a converged network infrastructure at an artificial intelligence research facility. The installation supports operations at a five-storey building located on the Cyber Valley innovation campus in Tübingen, Germany.
The systems design approach prioritized digital AV architecture throughout the facility. This alignment between the AV infrastructure and the research environment reflects contemporary practices in deploying networked audiovisual systems within technology-focused institutional settings.
AVoIP technology enables audio and video signals to be transmitted across standard IP networks alongside data traffic. Converged network deployments combine multiple types of traffic—voice, video, and data—on unified infrastructure, which can simplify management and reduce the need for separate dedicated cabling systems.
The project demonstrates the application of AVoIP solutions within European research environments, where institutions increasingly adopt networked AV systems to support collaborative work and operational requirements.
What This Means for AV Integrators
This project suggests that AV integrators may encounter growing demand for AVoIP implementations in research and technology facilities, particularly in Europe. Integrators designing systems for similar institutional environments should consider how AVoIP solutions can integrate with existing converged network infrastructure and support the specific operational needs of research-focused organizations.
