Ibase Motherboard Edge AI Pico-ITX Digital Signage

Ibase Technology Inc., a manufacturer specializing in embedded and edge computing platforms, has launched its new PI900 motherboard. The ultra-compact Pico-ITX motherboard is designed to combine integrated artificial intelligence acceleration with high-performance memory capabilities to handle demanding edge computing tasks.

High-Performance Specifications in a Pico-ITX Form Factor

The PI900 is powered by Intel Core Ultra 100U Series processors, which feature up to 12 cores and 14 threads. According to a press release from the company, the motherboard integrates CPU, GPU, and NPU capabilities on a single platform. This hardware combination is engineered to accelerate edge AI processing and support data-intensive workloads.

To support these processing demands, the compact board accommodates up to 48GB of DDR5-5600 memory. This high-speed memory capacity allows the motherboard to efficiently manage intensive data workloads at the edge.

What This Means for AV Integrators

For AV integrators deploying compact digital signage, interactive kiosks, or edge-based media players, this release highlights a growing trend toward highly localized AI processing hardware. Integrators should note that the combination of a small Pico-ITX footprint with dedicated NPU capabilities and high-speed DDR5 memory makes it easier to deploy localized machine learning and data-heavy applications directly at the display site without relying on external cloud resources.
